Aug. 13th, 2023 09:15 pmName: Joyous Orchid
Age: 22
Race: Miqo'te, Seeker of the Sun
Class/Job: Thaumaturge / Black Mage
Title: Adventurer / Warrior of Light
Height: Five fulms, two ilms (5'2")
Weight: One hundred fifteen ponzes (115 lbs)
Hair Color: Bright pink
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Voluptuous
Distinguishing Features: Long, flowing hair; fluffy pink tail; various piercings (ears, navel, nose stud, nipples)
History: Orphaned at an early age, Joy was adopted by a Hellsguard Roegadyn family living near Ul'dah and raised as one of their own. She grew up scuffling constantly with her adoptive brothers, and by the time she reached adulthood, she'd had her mind made up for years that she wanted to be an adventurer, like her parents had been before they'd settled down and retired years ago. With a sharp mind at her disposal and not much muscle on her soft body, despite an active upbringing, she felt that thaumaturgy was a natural path for her, and chose to join their guild when she was finally ready to set out on her own.
Adventurer Path: Joy excelled at using magic, and in a scant few years, she was declared a fully-fledged Thaumaturge. She left the guild for a time, opting to do a little wandering around Eorzea and seeing the sights, but increased Imperial aggression and the rise of Primal summonings soon saw her returning home and enlisting as an auxiliary in the Immortal Flames. She saw quite a bit of action, even participating as long-ranged artillery in a fight to put down an Ifrit summoning, until the Final Days came and went, the Garlean Empire fell, and relative peace returned. Now free again, she has yet to decide what next to do with her life, but it's probably going to involve a little (or a lot) of hedonism for a while.
WoL Path: See: Game Events. After years of rushing from one enormous catastrophe to the next (and don't come at me with that "it's been a few months" garbage they keep trying to pull), Joy has found herself thrillseeking a little more than is probably healthy for her. This includes hitting on any woman she runs into that she remotely believes might respond positively to her advances, gambling at the Gold Saucer, and enjoying strong drinks more than she probably should. Having a real, honest vacation is probably going to do her a world of good.
Personality: Friendly, flirty, fun. After all she's been through so far, Joy wants nothing more than to have a good time, whether that comes from the thrill of throwing around magic at her opponents, palling around with friends at a barroom table, or slipping away with a pretty young thing to put her fingers somewhere interesting, she never wants for motivation to find something to keep herself entertained. When the world around her truly gets chaotic, when she can't predict what's coming next and has to think and act on her toes, that's when she truly feels alive.
But, when push comes to shove, she is a reliable person. Joy has a sense of ethics, and she sticks to it, even if she jokes around a lot and teases everyone around her ruthlessly in even the most inappropriate of situations. If someone's in need of help, even if someone else could handle it and it's a waste of her talents, she has a hard time saying no, and an even harder time demanding payment for her efforts, as long as everyone's above board. Being tricked rankles her to no end, and anyone being dishonest with her or otherwise having duplicitous intents will find a sullen, uncooperative cat on their hands.
